Book Launch and Energy Policy Networking Event

Get your tickets here! - Tue, 28 Nov 2023 17:00 - 20:00 AEDT

The UNSW Digital Grid Futures Institute together with the UNSW Energy Institute are delighted to invite you to the launch of the book Developmental Environmentalism, and a lively debate about the need for a more strategic Australian response to global energy policy developments.

Hear our panel discuss the opportunities and challenges presented by East Asia's ambitious green energy shift and America's Inflation Reduction Act, and how Australia must respond.

Over refreshments that follow, enjoy the opportunity to mingle, make connections, and discuss ideas for an Australian energy policy revolution.

Speakers include Oliver Yates, inaugural CEO of Australia's Clean Energy Finance Corporation and fierce advocate of an ambitious national green energy drive and the authors of Developmental Environmentalism Professor Elizabeth Thurbon, Dr Sung-Young Kim, Professor Hao Tan and Professor Emeritus John Mathews.

UNSW Professor Elizabeth Thurbon and her colleagues recently called for a $100bn response to America's IRA and the need for Australia to eschew 'industry policy' and embrace a new Green Energy Statecraft in The Conversation.
